Examinations

A regular examination of the eyes is an important way of ensuring that nothing adverse is likely to affect them, and that they will continue to give good vision.

Because each persons eyes are different, the examinations we undertake may differ from patient to patient. For example if there is a family history of an eye problem such as glaucoma or macular degeneration, then it is important to tell us as this may mean that we need to do special tests.

We shall look into your eyes to inspect the important internal structures (in Southampton we can photograph these), and then check if your vision can be improve with spectacles or contact lenses. We will always demonstrate any improvement so that you can decide if this is a worthwhile change.
