GAS PERMEABLE CONTACT LENSES

These lenses are made from special rigid materials that allow oxygen to pass through the lens to keep the front of the eye healthy.
As the cornea does not have a blood supply flowing into it, it relies on the oxygen dissolved in the tear film to percolate into the cornea to maintain its transparency and health.
The oxygen permeability of the contact lens covering it is therefore of crucial importance.
This is why it is possible to get lenses in a variety of different materials, all to arrange an appointment - give us a ring.with differing permeability, to enable a selection of the right type for you.

The way the lens matches the curvature of the cornea is equally important, and different lens sizes and back surface designs are available to choose from. Things become even more interesting when a toric (or astigmatic) cornea is fitted. But don't worry, its not really that difficult and we will talk the options over with you.

Why not book in for a trial?  All you pay is an examination fee and depending on your suitability we will supply you with a pair of lenses to test drive for a week or two.

Go on, nothing ventured.............
